Goddess Mahagauri, believed to be the ruler of the planet Rahu, is called so because of her extremely fair complexion (‘maha’ being great and ‘gaur’ being white). She is the eighth manifestation of Goddess Durga and is worshipped on the eighth day of Navratri. The Goddess is depicted in all white clothes.
